Sash Window Repair & Restoration

If your sash windows are in good condition, then a restoration could be an option. We offer different options to restore the windows to their former glory:

A Simple Refurbishment

A lot of the time, old sash windows have been painted shut. We free up the window, make it slide again, fit new pulleys and rope and add any extra weight if needed. We then change the parting and staff beads to include draught proofing and get rid of any rattle in the sashes. We can also add new furniture and locks if required.

New Accoya Sashes

If your existing outer box is still in good condition, we can manufacture new Accoya double glazed sashes to fit. We fit the bare sashes in width and height, then send them off to be professionally sprayed using the Teknos coating system, this means that when the sashes are swung, they are painted on all edges therefore sealed.

When doing this method we also fit Deventer SP5920 flipper seal to the sides of the sashes which offers a closed cell foam and hollow chamber which gives a high tolerance and an acoustic value of 40dB.

Whilst the sashes are removed we will sand down and paint the existing box before swinging the new, professionally sprayed, double glazed sashes with new furniture, parting beads, staff beads and window restrictors if required.
